Christmas celebration was after Christmas. Had a nice time.

I haven't written for a long time. Photo above are 4 of the 12 placemats that I made for my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas 2021.

We now have a grandson.  Ethan was born on Sept. 22, 2021.  Such a cute little guy. We love being grandparents.

Jennifer's quilt from Grandma

This is the quilt that my Mom made using her old housecoats. None of them were very worn out. I believe that she used a new bed sheet for the backing. She did it all by hand. No machine sewing. She used alot of circles for the hand quilting and some stars.  I added a few lazy daisies to some blocks.  My daughter looks it.

Step 5 for my guilds mystery quilt along.  This was finished awhile ago.  We just got step 6 and I am working on it at present.

Happy quilting.

Carol

These 2 photos are the back and front of a crumb block quilt that I made. The little blocks were 3 1/2 inches and then I put them together as a quilt as you go method. The panels in between I first quilted and then joined each row together the same way.  Ended up being a busy quilt but then will be for a baby.
I do enjoy making the crumb block all different sizes. Think next time the between rows will be not so busy. Likely a  solid or tone on tone instead.

Here we are now still having Covid issues.  I am usually able to get a couple of hours in each day for my sewing.  Hope everyone out there is doing well.
Happy quilting.

I believe that both of these were done in May, 2020/ Top are some of the masks that I have been making and giving away.  The bottom is step 4 of the mystery quilt we are making at my quilting guild.  Covid 19 is still keeping us pretty much at home.  Out for groceries.  I did go out once with Mom to a clothing store and for lunch.  Library has opened up a little with restrictions.
Happy quilting, Carol

These photos were taken before my daughter got married on Sept. 7, 2019.  Above is my son Christopher. Before Chris with his wife Sara.
Photos are taken at Jenn and Tanner's house while getting ready to go to the church.
 My close friend Jocelyn

Mother of the Bride...Me. Before the wedding.
And Jennifer ready to head for the church.  The bouquet started out as my bouquet. Jean and I together made the teal satin flowers to add to the bouquet. My maid of honour made the original bouquet 30 years ago.
The beginning of a great day. I stayed at Jenn's the night before so we could leave early the next morning to get our hair done downtown at the hairdresser that Mary(Tanner's mom goes to).
More for the next posting.
