Back of the butterfly quilt and below are some of the 19 dolls I made of donation to a local church group.

This is better. I made the quilt using the quilt as you go method. I did enjoy making it.

Above is a video of the quilt I made for an auction to raise money for my local arena that donates space for the Days For Girls Langdon Team to seam for our group. Hope it works ok. Somehow my hubby hit video on my phone and didn't get a regular frame photo of the quilt.

Below is a Christmas quilt I made with blocks I won when I was in the executive draw one year at Dalemead Quilting Guild. The 2 pillows in the shot are from Creative Circle. Years ago. Below are done using candle wicking thread.  I have had these for a very long time.
Happy crafting,
:)Carol

Top 2 blocks were for the block lotto at my guild.  I did not win the bundle of them.
Top and below are 2 metered knit afghans for baby gifts in the future. I enjoyed making them. Used cotton yarn. Not inexpensive. 2 big balls.....$20 then the time to knit them.
I have been machine sewing a little lately and knitting some little dolls for charity.
Happy quilting,
Carol

Guess that is enough for todays loading of photo's. I will try to upload more regularly. Happy quilting.

Before and after of last month clean up job.  I was surprised at what was in some of the boxes. Next for the desk top.  I am cleaning and downsizing as well.  Maybe I will be able to put my second sewing machine back onto the desk to use.

Blocks I made for March's block lotto, online. Actually only the last 3 are going into the draw. I will do something with the other blocks for myself.  I liked doing this block.

Happy quilting,  Spring is on the way.  We have started to melt.

Front and back of a baby quilt I made recently.  I have it ready for the binding but it is not sewn on yet. All quilt as you go.All scraps except for both shades of pink. I had a metre of both of them. Will have some left over when done.

oops

I see after posting that I had already posted a few of the photos and written about them. I guess I just learned that before I send a new post I should view my recent posts so this does not happen again. Maybe I will get it right soon.

Jan. 31, 2019

Wow, what happened. it is already the end of Jan.  I was reading a blog I follow in my email and thought oh it's been a bit since I posted on my blog.
Above are the 3 blocks that I made for the Jan. block lotto online.
We have started a block lotto at my guild and the above are the blocks done by my guild members. Pattern was handed out in Nov. and returned to the Jan. meeting.  My block is the one sort of middle done on black and white gingham.  I did not win these blocks but really like them.
2 dog beds, front and back. The one on the right was the same material on both sides.
Below is the metered square baby afgan I have in progress. I need to get out and buy another ball of the same cotton yarn.  As you can see I have 2 different dye lots.  I did not check this was buying.  I also made a mistake and too one row across the top when I should have continued it down the right side.  Decided I would live with how it is done.  It is knit with 2 big balls of bernat cotton.
I had purchased 2 balls of the purple variegated and I have started another afghan with that.  Still haven't managed to get more of the navy yet.
So here it is the end of Jan. already. Where does the time go.
Happy crafting to all, :)Carol

Above are 2 of the 6 placemats I made of had stitches hexagons cut from bi-colour strips.

Well, that is it for today. I hope to get downstairs shortly for more sewing today. We have fog and hoar frost outside today.  A good sewing day at home.
Happy sewing to all.,

Sunday 13 January 2019

Some of the things I have recently made.  The half scarf above is all knitting. You do a multiple of 3 for 9 inches then k3,drop3,k3 to end. Then knit the remaining stitches for 9 inches.  Repeat for the second half. Crochet or sew 2 halves together and the scarf is done.  Here I used 21 stitches  as the yarn is very thick.  I made one with 33 stitches(no photo). I recall that the original pattern had 51 stitches and the yarn was very thin.  It's fun to make.  I can usually finish the scarf over 2 evenings of watching t.v.
These photos are of 2 dog beds I made. Front and back of each. The top one as a piece of free motion quilting practise that a friend donated to this purpose.
Below is a almost done baby afghan.  It is using 2 of the bernat big balls of cotton yarn.  I goofed and went the wrong way at the top.  The 2 balls were different colour lots and you can see I turned and went across the top instead of down the side. I am now waiting to get out and buy another ball so I can finish the last 5 block. Not sure how big it will finish.
Hope everyone is getting some quilting/sewing done after Christmas holidays.  My goal is at least an hour each day.  Sometimes I succeed and sometimes not.  I am ever hopeful.
Have a good day.

Jan. 12, 2019...baby quilt and placemats

Hi, here I am missing a couple of days.  I have 2 items that I took to show and tell at my guild Christmas party.. The top quilt was started with a panel and I added borders and the the E.p.p. butterflies. I had 2 - one metre pieces of flannel that I used for the back and binding. I think I finished this in Nov. 2018
Photo above are 2 of the 6 placemats I made with E.P.P Christmas Trees. I Machine sewed the trees in place and the straight lined quilted the rest of each placemat.  They were gifted at Christmas time 2018.

I am busy working on another quilt gift at the moment but I can't show it till after July is part way over.
